Google Earth (iPhone)

The first desktop application ported by Google to a mobile phone is Google Earth. iPhone and iPod Touch users can download for free from the App Store the best way to explore satellite imagery in 3D.

"Not only is having Google Earth on your iPhone convenient, but the touch interface is a very natural way to interact with the Earth. Just swipe your finger across the screen and you fly to the other side of the globe; tilt your phone and your view tilts as well. You can pinch to zoom in or out, or just double tap with one finger to zoom in and two fingers to zoom out," says Google LatLong Blog.

CNet writes that iPhone's multitouch makes the experience much more intuitive than in the desktop version of Google Earth. Like Google Maps for Mobile, the application can detect your location using information from GPS, Wi-Fi networks, and mobile phone towers. You can explore interesting places and discover more about them using the integrated layers: Wikipedia and Panoramio photos.

The cool applications that were only available from your computer start to be ported to mobile phones. In the future, the most exciting applications will be first launched for mobile phones.

Faces Visual Photo Dialer offers extremely quick access to your favorite contacts in a number of different ways:

1. Add up to 14 pages (168 contacts) with photos to quick dial / sms/ email/ visit people you frequently stay in touch with.

2. Tap on any contact once to execute the default assigned action (i.e. Speed Dial / Call / SMS / Email / Map/ URL etc)

3. Group your favourite contacts into labeled pages of 12 contacts each. Navigate between pages with a single swipe.

New in this version 1. Start up is now extremely fast compared to previous versions and other similar apps. Loads in almost under 2 seconds.
2. A total of 14 pages can now be added to Faces instead of 10
3. Company contacts support added (these are now recognized and their names are displayed appropriately).
4. Several issues with 'Sync' fixed.
5. When a contact is edited from within Faces, their detail is automatically synced (along with their newly assigned or removed Photo) instead of having the user re-select a phonenumber/email etc
6. Several minor improvements with displayed photo quality

* v1.2.2 Update now makes 'Face View' the default view when a contact is Tapped. Simply turn this OFF from Settings to call/email the person on a single tap immediately instead.

* In case you have issues with swipes after the update, Tap the blinking [+] icon and tap the re-order button to fix.
